Wren's First Easter

We had a good first Easter with Wren. She slept through most of it, but after her nap, she was up and very interested in the colorful balls in the yard. Mimi gave her a basket, but not much, if any, went in. Every time she found an egg, she would pick it up, "discover" it, and then throw it back on the ground. We thought if we gave her a full basket, she might get the idea. Instead she took all of the eggs out of it and carried it around- but no eggs actually went in a basket. I guess there is always next year! She did get us laughing when she got her foot stuck in her little pink basket. She walked around for about 5 minutes trying to figure out how to get it off her foot while we laughed at her- poor thing! We had such a nice time with family and I think Wren had a great time!

First Family Vacation

I hope you all enjoy my newest project of photo montageing! I thought it would be a better way to post 67 pictures of our first family vacation (I wittled it down from 300 :) We had a wonderful time at DeGray State Park and Hot Springs, Arkansas. Wren was such a trooper and loved being outside all the time. As you look at the pictures, you will see the newest member of our family, Crash, the stuffed rat! Wren picked him out of all the sweet cuddly things in the gift shop. She carried him around by the end of his tail all over AR.It was hilarious! You will also see pics of our traditional putt-putt excursion as well as our chilly boat ride around the lake and our adventures in Hot Springs. We hope you enjoy the pictures!!!

Almost 10 months old!

We can't believe it! Wren will be 10 months old tomorrow! She has been such a blessing to our family and she keeps us on our toes! Here are some of the new things she is doing these days:
  • Walking everywhere!
  • Drinking out of a cup (milk, juice, and water)
  • Clapping for herself when she walks
  • Playing peek-a-boo with me by hiding her face behind anything she can find and then popping out from behind it
  • Pointing to everything and saying "Da, Da" (we have come to realize she means "What's that?")Feeding herself finger foods (she is pretty much over the baby food)
  • Holding her own bottle (finally! Once we weaned, she took over the bottle pretty quickly
  • Testing the limits- if I tell her no, she will turn around to do it again after looking at me to see if the answer is still no
  • Running/crawling away from me when I try to get her away from the "no, no" (with a HUGE smile on her face, I might add...)
  • Napping! Yeah!!!
  • Sleeping through the night again! Yeah!!!
  • Attempting to climb on things (she hasn't quite figured it out yet, thankfully)
  • Biting me with her 6 teeth when she doesn't get her way (this only happens occationally and we are trying to put a stop to it quickly!
  • Opening and closing doors
  • Taking toys out and putting them back in their container (over and over and over again!
  • There are many more but this is all I have time for!

What do doggies say?

Wren knows the answer to that question! She loves to look at the neighbor's dog (or any dog) and now can say "woof." Listen closely!

Fun Times around the House!

These videos aren't super eventful, but I think they are so cute! One is Wren pushing a chair across the kitchen floor (I never thought I would video something like that :) and the other is Wren trying to scale our entertainment center in hopes of taking EVERY DVD off the shelf. She is in constant motion all the time so it's hard to get pictures of her. She is now napping! Hallelujah!!! I have started to let her cry it out and it has been wonderful! She now cries for about 15 minutes and then sleeps for 2 or 2 1/2 hours. Yippee!!! She does this twice a day! She is also walking EVERYWHERE! In the last two weeks she has learned how to turn and walk a different direction and pick up a toy without falling! She is also starting to push up from the ground to stand instead of having to pull up on something. There is going to be no stopping her by the end of the month! She is changing so much everyday! I wish it would slow down, but it's also fun to see her grow and change. I love being a mommy!

Wren's First Swing

Who needs a swing set when you have Dad? Sorry about it being sideways. I don't know how to fix it!

Helping Mom with the Dishes

Wren loves to play in the refridgerator, freezer, pantry, and dishwasher. As you can see, she is a really big "help" when it comes to unloading the dishwasher :).
