We went home Christmas night, slept and packed to go to Granbury for a weekend away with just Brance, Wren and I. We love the cabin there and wanted to seize the opportunity to get away. It was fun, but Wren was unusually fussy. I thought it was just her being tired from Christmas and all of the new places. The next day, my friend Gina came in to visit, and Wren developed a bad cough. We went to the doctor the next day only to find out Wren had RSV, a respiratory virus. The next week was spend tending to a sick baby. I was so thankful Brance was home from school to help out. Poor Wren would cough so hard she would throw-up. She was still actually pretty active and happy until New Years Eve. She got a pretty high fever and would just lay on Brance. I kind of freaked out and called the doctor at 9:30pm. They just suggested that I alternated Motrin and Tylenol. It helped so much!!! After about a week of sleeping in the car seat in the bed and suffering through breathing treatments, Wren was finally on the mend! We were glad to have our little girl back to normal!

Christmas Fun!
We had such a wonderful time with Wren this Christmas! She was just old enough to be interested, but not old enough to be into everything :). We spent time with lots of family! We enjoyed the "Dodson" Chirstmas at my sister's house this year and Wren had so much fun watching her cousins and playing with them. She was mesmerized by all the action and got some wonderful Christmas gifts! We spent Christmas Eve with Brance's family. We ate good food and opened gifts. We had a wonderful time playing with Wren and watching her experience Christmas for the first time. We also got some great gifts (Brance's mom got me the complete icing tip from Wilton so that I can learn to decorate for Wren's future birthday cakes!) That night, we headed over to my parent's house and spent the night so that we could wake up on Christmas morning with them. We slept in and enjoyed breakfast with Nicole and David. Then we opened gifts (again :). Wren got some adorable clothes and fun toys. After that we headed to my aunts house to eat and...open gifts! We stayed late and poor Wren was pooped, but we had a great Christmas!

Road Trip with Mimi and Poppi
Wren and I took a road trip with Mimi and Poppi in their new RV! We went to Ozona to visit my sweet friend Gina. We stopped at Inks Lake and on the way there and enjoyed hiking along the beautiful trails. We all had so much fun! Wren loved playing with her Mimi and Poppi and I enjoyed the extra hands. Wren was such a great traveler. She slept quite a way in her carseat and the rest of the time, played with whoever was sitting in the back with her. The only thing missing was Brance! He had to work. Hopefully we can go on another road trip with him soon.

Around the House
Here are some cute pictures over the last couple of months around the house. Wren is continuing to grow so fast! She just gets cuter every day. She finally has a little bottom tooth. She was a great teether. She was up at night a few times, but I would give her a little tylenol and she would be back to sleep. She is now eating a variety of veggies and a couple of fruits. Her favs are sweet potatoes, squash, and oatmeal with banana. She hates green beans and plain cereal (I mix it with other foods). She is nowhere near acting like she is ready to crawl, but she gets around just fine by rolling. She has already gotten into the Christmas presents and tried to open the doors on our entertainment center. She also loves to walk with us holding her fingers. She can pull up to a stand from a sitting position but she hasn't quite figured out how to sit up on her own (she is close!). I think once she figures out how to form complete sentences we are never going to have a quiet moment to ourselves. She is already very vocal with her baby talk! She now consistantly crys "Mama" and actually said it the other night amist much babble. So cute! She tries to wave and laughs at any little game we play! She LOVES her Daddy and Uncle Brian! She just lights up when they walk in the room. I think that is all the new stuff for now. Sorry it took so long to get this site updated!!!

At the Pumpkin Patch

So for Halloween, we took Wren to the local pumpkin patch. It was 80something degrees outside, so I didn't put her long-sleeved, long pant, velor costume on. I just dressed her cute and off we went. We got to the pumpkin patch ready to take cute pictures of our always smiley baby, but alas, there were no smiles to be found. I think she was (1) tired, (2) distracted by all of the pumpkins, (3) always reminding us that she is not a performing monkey and she will not do what we want her to do when we want her to do it. The one smile we did get, was when we pulled a random 10 year old boy over to smile at her. She was ALL smiles for him. We have some work to do with this one...
