Wren liked the idea of the birds while looking at them from teh safety of her stroller, but once we got inside the tent, she wasn't so sure. We kept trying to get her to hold the stick, but she would only hold it if there were no birds nearby.

Family Day at the Zoo

A couple of weeks ago, when the weather was sunny, cool, and perfect, our family set out for a day at the Fort Worth Zoo! I had taken Wren to the zoo when she was about 12 months old and she liked it, but she is now at an age where she LOVES it!!! We got a kick out of her watching the animals and learning their names (she really liked the zebras!). The parakeet feeding was also fun. I think Wren was more freaked out than interested, but we will win her over :). Most of all, Wren loved being with both of us! It's amazing to me how, already, she is happiest with mommy AND daddy. If Brance is holding her and I am nearby, she will reach out and motion for me to come closer so that we can have a group hug. So cute and a vivid reminder to me that we are both so vitally important in Wren's life and family time is a must!

Showing Off!
I hope you enjoy this video of Wren showing off all of her tricks. She is such an entertainer! We are always getting a good laugh out of her antics.

Fun Times!

Wren is changing and growing so much every day! I cannot believe how much she has grown up since turning one. She is know in the "parrot" stage and attempts to repeat everything we say. Some of the funniest repeats have been "Delicious" and "Don't Lie"- (see Anjelah Johnson's "Nail Salon" on YouTube). She gets pretty close to most words, but still can't say the p sound, much to Poppi's disappointment. She is now RUNNING everywhere and is an all around ham. It so funny to see her try to make us laugh. She is a natural comedian! She has also discovered how to climb up her changing table. One day, I kept saying, "I need to change your diaper, girl," but kept getting distracted. It then noticed the silence and went in search Wren. I found her, diaper in hand, sitting on the changing table, patiently waiting for me to get my act together :). Now we are trying to teach her to come down. She is pretty good, but would rather jump off of it... We love our crazy baby so much and hope you enjoy the pictures of our lovable baby girl!!!

Sad Day
Well, I didn't even get to post it on the blog, but Brance and I were pregnant and expecting baby #2 in late March. On Thursday, Sept. 10, I miscarried. We are disappointed, of course, but resting in the fact that God is faithful and He knows what He is doing. We are so thankful to be surrounded in prayer by so many friend and family, near and far. We can feel it! We have also been blessed with friends that have gone through this journey and know just what to say. We are so thankful for them. Please keep our family in your prayers as we adjust to this change in our schedule. We know His plan is perfect even when it doesn't match up to our plan!

Back to Reality!

I cannot believe the summer is over! Brance went back for training this week and the kids come on Monday. He is still teaching 5th grade Math and Science in Grand Prairie and we are looking forward to an adventurous year! Sorry for the lack of posts, but we have been BUSY this summer. We went on 3 trips as well as enoying seeing Whitney and Scott get married!!! We visited California and Las Vegas (without Wren :), Austin, and Houston/Galveston. Although we enjoyed the trips so much, some of our sweetest memories were at home with Wren and each other. This is the first time in our relationship that we have had this much uninterrupted time together and it was WONDERFUL!!! Teachers do have a hard job, but those summers sure are nice :)! Wren loved having her daddy home with her so much. She got very attached and has been having a hard time adjusting back to reality. Every morning, she looks and calls for him throughout the house. When she can't find him, she shrugs her shoulders, turns up her hands, and says, "Dunno?" I think she is trying to communicate that she has looks for her daddy and doesn't know where he is. I reassure her that Daddy is only at work and will be home soon. Between 5:30-6:00 we got through it again- looking, calling, shrugging... Its good to see how much she loves her Daddy! I am having to adjust as well. I am used to having another pair of eyes to watch our mischevious little imp and its been hard learning how to "do it all" again, but God is faithful and has used this time to deepen my appreciation and love for my husband even more. We both miss him! Well, enough about all of that, here are some picutures of the fun we have had around the house!
